Red Ranger & Happy Hobo Girl

Halloween

Fall is upon us the leaves have changed colors and here we are the kids first Halloween together – Sarah’s original costume was too small so we ventured out and found this cute little getup she is wearing in the pictures. I just wanted something different for her and this just seemed to suit her well. We went out with the kids to Trick or Treat and it was pretty funny how fast she got the hang of this, she actually started to say “trick or treat” and at the end she just walked right up and stuck her hands in the bowl of candy we got quite the chuckle out of it.

The kids had a lot of fun even though it got a bit cold out the wind was brisk.

Can you believe it we time goes by so fast – 6 months it has been already since Sarah was placed into our arms and how wonderfully she has blossomed since then. It is like her personality all the sudden came out stronger then ever and she is determined to find her way. She grew quite a bit, she is a solid sleeper, gets along wonderfully with her peers at daycare, she is loving, playful and strong willed at the same time.

She has her favorite little book “Time For Bed” the same one we read every night for bedtime, her favorite songs “Li La Lu” a German Lullaby and “Rock A’ By Baby” that we sing every night before bed, “Itsy Bitsy Spider” is one of her favorite Rhymes. We still play her mobile on her crib every night and off to sleep she goes thru the night.
She has been a blessing and we are grateful to have her in our lives and part of our family and we thank her birthmother in China for giving us this wonderful gift.

Fall Geocaching

Last weekend, one of the last just marvelous October days we will have or may have had with temps way above normal we had another geocaching day on the planner. We met up with our friends the Heutmakers for lunch at Pete’s in NR and then off to Saint Croix Falls for some cache hunting.

The trail we ended up on was just beautiful, peaceful, beautiful fall colors and we must have walked a few miles but it was so much fun. We found a few very creatively hidden caches and the kids all seemed to enjoy themselves a great deal.
Thx Beth, Ron and Hope for joining us :-)

Soccer Time

Ok yes I know its been a while since I updated the blog but things have been getting more and more busy since the kids started school and Garry’s and my classes are now officially started as well.

The kids are doing great, the boys have started soccer so we spend our Saturday mornings on the Soccer field and then really most of the remaining Saturday is catching up time. With some of the more eventful changes that we may have coming up – more on that once we have more concrete info – I am looking forward to soccer season coming to an end to be able to focus more time on some project that need to be done around the house right now.

Sarah has transitioned into the 2 ½ to 3 year old room at her daycare and she is really doing well. She gets right into the groups and plays and she continues to love to sing. She keeps growing and I find myself pulling clothes out of her closet that she has already outgrown left and right. Good thing I keep one size up in the closet at all times. She still wants to be miss independent and is getting much better about not waving and blowing kisses to people that may find it cute but its out of place. I had to take her in for a checkup the other day and she gained 6 pounds and grew a bit over 2 inches since we came home late April. She is also starting to let me know when she is done eating rather then feeling like she can’t leave anything on her plate and we are having less and less melt downs over plates moved before they are empty. So we are making progress :-) and she is very much letting the guys know that she is indeed the other women in our household, she is quite the little helper great about putting her toys away and helping set the table already…. My how she is blossoming.
